Noront holds a large suite of properties in the James Bay Lowlands of Northern Ontario, a region renamed the "Ring of Fire" following the 2007 discovery of its Eagle's Nest deposit. Since 2007, Noront has invested more than $100 million in exploration and feasibility activities in the Ring of Fire. The company has expanded the high-grade nickel, copper, platinum and palladium resource at the Eagle's Nest deposit and identified numerous additional areas of mineralization, including the Blackbird chromite deposit. Noront is currently finalizing a feasibility study for the Eagle's Nest deposit and is advancing toward financing and development of the operation.
